About The Gala

Join ACEC for the 2024 Engineering Excellence Awards Gala – the world's greatest celebration of engineering excellence, which recognizes preeminent engineering achievements from throughout the world, including the Grand Conceptor Award for the year’s best overall engineering accomplishment.

Recognition

All award winners will be recognized at the black-tie EEA Gala Dinner and Awards Program. The Gala evening begins with Reception at 6:00 P.M. The awards show kicks off with a special celebration honoring Frances Arnold, Linus Pauling Professor of Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, and Biochemistry at the California Institute of technology, who will be presented with ACEC’s 2024 Distinguished Award of Merit.

Tribute & Hosting

The evening continues with tributes of 2024 National Recognition Award Winners, Dinner, and presentation of the year’s Top Awards hosted by award-winning improv comedian, Paul Mecurio. The Gala closes with an After-Party with music and dancing.

Purchasing Tickets

Tickets to the Gala can be purchased online through the EEA Gala Registration Link above. When you register for the EEA Gala, you will be asked to select individual tickets, tables of 10 or Sponsorship. Select the option that best fits your needs.

Individual Tickets: $450.00 each
Tables of 10: $3,900.00 each

EEA Gala Registration must be received by Friday, April 19th.

The Grand Hyatt Washington is located downtown just a few blocks from the White House, National Mall, Smithsonian museums, and Capitol Hill. You'll enjoy exceptional comfort and service during your stay in the heart of the nation's capital with a direct connection to the city via the Metro Center station.

The Grand Hyatt Washington is currently enhancing guestrooms through renovations. During our event, renovations will be occurring only in sleeping rooms. EEA Gala FAQs

What is the dress code for the Gala?

Where can I rent a tuxedo?

Tuxedo Rentals are available through M. Stein & Company Tuxedos. Interested patrons can visit the M. Stein website or call (202) 659-1434 or (301) 703-9422 for tuxedo rental information.

A classic tuxedo is $105 without shoes, and $115 with shoes. The price does include an insurance damage waiver cost.

To ensure a special ACEC rate and on-time hotel delivery, please mention that you are with the "ACEC Group".  Tuxedo orders must be received by April 15, 2024, to receive the discounted price.

After the cut-off date, a classic tuxedo will be $150 without shoes, and $160 with shoes.

Please remember to pick up and drop -off your rental tuxedo at the hotel concierge afterwards.

Can I cancel my registration for the Gala and get a refund?

EEA Individual Ticket(s), less a $35 processing fee will be refunded if written notification is received on or before April 12, 2024. EEA Table(s) of 10, less a $300 processing fee will be refunded if written notification is received on or before April 12, 2024. No refunds will be granted after this date. Substitution attendee name(s) are welcome if transferring to another employee in the same firm. Written notification must be sent to meetings@acec.org prior of the EEA Gala.
