Bio:

Rick Larsen represents Washington state’s Second Congressional District, which includes portions of Snohomish County and all of Skagit, Whatcom, Island, and San Juan counties in Northwest Washington.

He is a leader on transportation, aviation, trade, and U.S.–China relations. As the lead Democrat (Ranking Member) on the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, Rick is focused on making bold, long-term investments in the nation’s infrastructure to create jobs, drive economic growth, and build a cleaner, greener, safer, and more accessible transportation network.

A member of the New Democrat Coalition, Rick is a strong advocate for pro-growth policies that support innovation, job creation, and a strong economic foundation.

The Second District is home to Boeing’s largest manufacturing facility, as well as small and medium-sized businesses that support production of the 747, 767, 777, 787, and the Air Force KC-46 refueling tanker. It also includes Naval Station Everett and Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, which are vital to the region’s economy and national security.

Northwest Washington is one of the most beautiful areas of the country, and Rick is committed to protecting its natural resources for recreation and tourism—a major economic driver. He is a leader in preserving public lands, restoring salmon habitat, and combating climate change through investments in clean energy and sustainable infrastructure.

Rick was born in Arlington, WA, and attended Arlington Public Schools. He and his wife, Tiia, live in Everett and are the proud parents of two sons, Robert and Per.
