Michael Morgan is an Executive Director in the Capital Delivery Department at Sound Transit and is responsible for a portfolio of light rail projects including the planning and development of future light rail maintenance facilities. Michael brings more than 25 years of international experience in design, construction, operations, and maintenance of complex rail systems.

Prior to joining Sound Transit, Michael worked for the City of Ottawa as the Director of the Rail Construction Program where he led a $5B light rail expansion program. His work in Ottawa was focused on the delivery of a major transit portfolio involving three rail extensions, three new maintenance facilities, and two fleet expansions. The program included more than 28 miles of new track, twenty-four new passenger rail stations, new bus transfer facilities, and a variety of new active transportation connections.

Prior to his role in Ottawa, Michael grew his career in the private sector, leading major projects including as a member of the team at Bombardier Transportation, where he focused on the delivery of fully integrated passenger systems. His work included driverless passenger rail projects in Vancouver, New York, and South Korea as well as an at-grade light rail project in Gold Coast, Australia.
