Dr. Keith Molenaar is Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and K. Stanton Lewis Professor of Construction Engineering and Management in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. His teaching focuses on risk and decision analysis, construction engineering, cost engineering, and project controls, while his research centers on risk analysis, alternative project delivery, and cost estimating for infrastructure projects. He is the author of more than 150 technical reports and articles.
Dr. Molenaar has led project delivery and risk-related work for multiple state Departments of Transportation, including California, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Texas, and Washington. He has served on technical review committees for major projects such as the Columbia River Bridge, SR520 Floating Bridge, San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge, Panama Canal Expansion, and ITER Fusion project.
An active member of the Transportation Research Board, American Society of Civil Engineers, Construction Management Association of America, and Design-Build Institute of America, he has received numerous honors, including recognition as a Public Works Magazine “Top 50 Trendsetter.” He is a fellow of DBIA and a member of both the Pan-American Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Construction.
