Steve is an experienced corporate & technology attorney with deep cyber, data privacy & artificial intelligence (AI) expertise. He holds three international certifications – the AIGP (Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional), CIPP/Europe (GDPR) and CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager). He serves as General Counsel of the National Artificial Intelligence Association in Washington, D.C. (NAIA).

In such capacity, Steve authored NAIA’s comments to the Trump Administration on the AI Action Plan, to House & Senate Commerce Committees on the AI Moratorium and advises NAIA on responses to Trump’s AI Executive Order. He also authored NAIA’s recommended preemptive Federal bill known as the American Data Intelligence Act.

Steve advises US & international companies on the full range of data protection laws, including GDPR, the California (CCPA) and 23+ other state date privacy & consumer health data laws as well as EU & State artificial intelligence laws. He advises clients on the new California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) regulations on cyber audits, risk assessments & automated decision-making technologies (ADMT) and on HHS, FTC & New York State tracking technology rules.

Steve is Managing Partner of Britt Law LLC (www.brittlawllc.com) and lives in Charleston, SC with his wife, daughter & Cairn terrier.
