Bill Shuster represented Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2001 to 2019, serving more than 17 years in Congress. A Republican, he became Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in 2013 and was known for his work on infrastructure, transportation, aviation, rail, pipeline safety, and water resources policy. Before serving in Congress, he earned degrees from Dickinson College and American University and was active in business and public service in western Pennsylvania.
